Rain, Rain Go Away!

Greetings from soggy PA!  We have had more than enough rain over the past month.  Ready for sunshine and outdoor walks.  I spent two weeks in Alaska recently and enjoyed all the wildlife, glaciers and NO bugs!

Now it is back to everyday life.  I have enjoyed getting back to creating cards.

My next project includes setting up an Etsy site to sell cards so I have a reason to make more!!!  I will let you know when "Westover Garden Cards" is up and running.  This Westover plaque is in the bricks of  the house I am living in and the gardens have blooming flower beds most of the spring and summer, thus the name.

Time to do some crafting!  Thanks for stopping by and take time to enjoy Life's Moments!

Summer's Going By

Greetings!  It is now August and a very wet month so far.  I have been busy with family, vacation and a short move to a house down the street.

The chipmunk is on the side porch of home and likes to avoid the wet ground while eating!

Crafting has been on hold but I have been sneaking a few moments to make some new cards.  Creative juices are starting to flow and once the fall gets here I hope to have an Etsy shop up and running.  My collection of cards I have made has grown and I need to get them under control!  I will let you know when Westover Garden Cards is ready to open.

In the meantime, here are a few of the cards I have made.  They are a mix of leftover CTMH paper, SOTM and Altenew stamps for classes I am taking.  Always trying to improve my crafting skills!

Right now I am dog sitting for my daughter.  Of course the daily downpours of rain are just no help as she hates to get her paws wet!!!

Until next time Enjoy Life's Moments and capture them with photos.

June and All About Layering 1

Time is just flying by.  I have been busy closing on the sale of my Mother's house and helping a very special person in my life move from one house to another.  After 19 years of being a widow I have started dating that very special man that I have known for over a year. That being said, my crafting time has been nill!!!  However I have started the first project for my Altenew Educators Certification Program.  It was fun and I am happy with the outcome for lesson one in All About Layering.

I will explain in more detail when I have a chance.  The first photo was my practice piece which then added to a black card base.  I added the butterfly to cover a spot that I was not happy with.  The sentiment is heat embossed in black.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.  I hope to start having more time to craft in the near future!!

School is OUT for the SUMMER!

Happy beginning to the summer and warm weather!  Time to sit by the pool and drink lemonade!  In honor of that I have created this card using the SOTM from May.

Graduation time is here too!

Thought I would add a few pics of out neighborhood guests from a local farm.  What a loud noise they make!!!

Enjoy you day and take time to Enjoy Life's Moments!

Music, Music, Music

March winds have come in April!  It is too windy to go outside so a good day to craft!  That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Before I unpack my new products for the release of Close To My Heart Seasonal Expressions May-August I need to make room for them.  Some might say I have too much "stuff" but I really don't think that is ever possible!!!

I chose a music theme since I have been a music teacher most of my life.  I am entering this card in the Color Dare #285 challenge as well as the Paper Players PP387 Challenge.  I chose Bashful as my main color highlighting with Raspberry for the sentiment and Pebble as the musical score in the background.  The stamp set is Turn Up the Volume from Technique Tuesday and Musical Score from Catherine Pooler Designs.

Project 2 No Line Coloring

This is my finished project for Altenew's Creative Coloring Class.  I have wanted to try doing no line coloring on a project and I must say it is quite easy.  Altenew's markers are easy to use and blend.  I only have set B so I used my Shin Haun  Markers to draw the stem of the flower as well as the grass free hand.  Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray Frost was used to spray over the entire flower layer.  I used the Get Well Soon stamp set from Altenew for this project.

Creative Coloring With Artist Markers Class

I am taking Altenew Academy Creative Coloring With Artist Markers Class in hopes of improving my use of alcohol markers.  I am enjoying the online class and have had fun with the first two projects!
My first project was learning how to blend colors which was then used as a base behind this great leaf cover die from Altenew.

I started with a 41/4 by 51/2  piece of card stock and practiced blending three shades of the same color from all four corners.  That didn't look that great by itself but when adding the Leaf Cover Die over top, it looks so much better!  I only have the B set of Markers so my card will look different from the rest of the class that used set A.  I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on black card stock .  This is a favorite way of mine to attach sentiments.
Stay tuned for my second project and thanks for stopping by.  Remember to take time to Enjoy Life's Moments!

Eggplant, Pewter, Goldrush

Color Dare #283 - Eggplant, Pewter and Goldrush.  Three colors that I probably not put together in a card.  However I really like the combination!  Who knew...

I chose CTMH "Blooming Expressions" ( retired D1665) to go along with those three colors.  I have the two tone colors by stamping off the first layer and stamping twice for the outline shapes.  I stamped three flowers to set the placement then stamped one large flower and the small ones along with the leaves on another sheet and fussy cut them out.  Large flower was popped up so that I could tuck the other flowers and leaves underneath.  Matted it on Pewter and Goldrush.  The edges of the main white cardstock was inked around the edges with Pewter ink.

Hope you can now thing of spring and flowers!  Thanks for stopping by and take time to Enjoy Life's Moments!

Hello Spring?

Sitting here and waiting to see if we get snow or just rain.  My flower bed is thinking spring however.  I hope Mother Nature does not disappoint, haha!  So to get in the mood for spring I created this card and had a group that comes to my local library for a card class how to make it.

I used Easter Animals and Easter Basket stamp sets from CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ombre cards

Friday and another challenge at AAA Cards!

I used Doodle Garden background stamp from Catherine Pooler and heat embossed it in white.   Dusty Concord Distress Ink was used to create the ombre effect.

The other card has Bamboo II by SU as a background, heat embossed in white.  Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the ombre effect.  The Smile die is from Catherine Pooler's Zen Garden release.  I cut it out of white cardstock, and the same Distress Ink as on the card.  Popped up using Fun Foam and added Wink of Stella for some bling!
