AECP class - Clean & Simple Boutique Cards

 Altenew Educator Certification Program

Clean & Simple Boutique Class

I have enjoyed this class taught by Jennifer Rasa.  I am sharing with you the card I made from Lesson 2, creating stamped backgrounds, using the Hello Winter stamp set from Technique Tuesday.
The background was randomly stamped using London Fog Memento Ink.

I stamped the sentiment using Catherine Pooler Rockin' Red Ink onto a tag die cut using a Close To My Heart die.  I inked the edges  to help it stand out a little.

Inside my card I stamped the snow border from the stamp set and added the Sweater Weather stamp, also from Technique Tuesday.

I enjoyed the class and I must admit that I have enjoyed creating my own backgrounds using random stamping rather than patterned paper!  If you haven't tried it, go ahead and give it a try.  You might find you enjoy it too!

Let It Snow!

Well I really don't want the snow just yet but I am making a stack of these for a card making workshop this week.  It is way too early for snow and cold weather.  I am sure a lot of you agree.  Mother Nature will do what she wants so dig out those winter coats...LOL.

I have been missing in action lately, waiting for my new craft room to be finished.  It has been a slow process as it is over a three bay "carriage house"!

I will have the second floor!!!!

I am getting closer to being able to pick out what I want in it.  Pinterest is helping thank heavens 😀!  I hope that by December I will be able to set it up!

In the meantime I have been able to make a few cards.

I hope that soon I can post on a more regular basis.  Until later, try to stay warm!

Majestic Blooms

I have been back on my creative kick again after a busy period of "life gets in the way"!  I am working on the Layering II class and enjoying using the different Altenew stamp sets.  The Majestic Blooms stamp set was fun to work with and easy to add the leaves around the flower.  I used Altenew inks on the pink flower and Catherine Pooler inks on the orange flower.

I made a few practice flowers to line up the layers.  The leaves were easy to add.  The "hello" was made of three white and a black "hello" glued together.  The card panel was mounted on a black layer from which the black "hello" was die cut.

I added the sentiment inside and stamped some of the smaller leaves over the top of it.  Gems were added to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by.  Take time to stop and smell the flowers!

Color My Heart Color Dare #331

Not too often that I use shades of brown to create a card but I really like the way this turned out.  I teach a card making class once a month at the library here in town and my focus this month is using Perfect Pearls.  I wanted to have them use the Perfect Pearls on a stamped image and on a second card lightly rub Versa Mark on an embossed image.  Enter Cut and Emboss in One Pass, Rose Flourish folder from Spellbinders and a card was created
Rose Flourish Cut and Emboss Folder

The border was made with a retired set of border dies from Close To My Heart.  Class is tonight and I hope they enjoy working with Perfect Pearls.  Thank you Color My Heart #331!

You are Awesome

Today's card is from the All About Layering class with Altenew that I just finished.  This uses the stamp set Painted Butterflies.  I love the whimsical look of the butterflies.

The background has some ink blending and the butterflies has some clear shimmer brush to make them shine!  Of course a few gems add shine too!  I am more than ready to see butterflies flying again.  I guess I will have to wait a few more months!  I hope your day is awesome!

To Quilt or not to Quilt

How many enjoy quilting?  My grandmother loved to quilt as well as crochet bedspreads.  I treasure the ones that I have but quilting or crocheting is not my thing.  However, quilting with paper is a different story.  Close To My Heart introduced Stitched Quilt Shapes.  They are currently sold out but will return in late March.  In the meantime I will create cards and be ready for late March, when they are ready for order again.

Who would have thought that quilting would be so popular?

Thanks for stopping by and Enjoy Life's Moments today!

Colored with Arteza Brush Pens and added a butterfly from the

Black and White

What is the best thing to do on a rainy day?  Head to the craft room and pick a challenge!  Today I chose Color Dare Challenge #326.  I love the clean look of black and white cards so this was an easy challenge to sit down and do.

Hello Friends

Sending warm wishes to all.  This blast of cold air has created quite a mess in central PA!  Thus it is a good day to stay in and play with paper!!!

Today I am entering Addicted to CAS Challenge #151.  I fell in love with the new stamp set, Budding Peony, and thin cuts Z4264.   I colored it with Altenew Artist markers, cut it out and attached it to a card base made by using a stencil from  Catherine Pooler.  The tag was cut with a Thin cuts from CTMH Fancy Tags Z4305.

It has warmed up to 10 degrees but the wind chill is just 0.  Still too cold to go outside so I will just have to continue playing with paper!

Happy 2019!

Greetings to 2019!  All the Christmas preparations are over and time with family and friends are now precious memories.  Now to get in the spirit of a new year and moving forward with projects.

I have made a list of some card making challenges I want to take part in this year as well as complete the first Level of Altenew Educator program.

First challenge is from The Paper Players #423 with the theme "Crazy About Critters".  I have been crazy about House Mouse stamps for some time so I got busy today and this is the result.

The flower has Wink of Stella on it which is very hard for my camera to capture.

Card recipe:
Stamp: Stampendous House Mouse, Friend Wishes
Prismacolor Pencils
Close To My Heart paper

I hope they make you feel good and smile too!
Until next post, Enjoy Life's Moments!
